So I've been noticing a lot of "Roadwork" signs on our freeways up here. But very little roadwork (if any) being done.

I think it's because they can double your fine if you get a citation in a construction zone!!!!

I wouldn't put that past possibility, however, government is notorious for just being effing slow to start the projects. Either way, drive carefully through there

As far as I know yes, as long as there are construction signs visible and present, then they can claim that it is a construction zone, and thus double your fine.

Of course I meant anything within reason. A cop can pull you over, for example, for something like speeding and write you up for that...then, he/she can, if he/she is an @$$, write you up for things like tinted windows, lowered car, obstruction of the front windshield with a parking pass (that's a fun one), no front license plate, reckless driving, no seatbelt, talking on your cellphone, etc... All that is at the cop's discretion and he/she can choose to look the other way. That's what I meant.

AND... yes.. its a distinct possibility. My city is doing road construction near my house and all I see are orange cones and barriers and no work being done. I have seen plenty of cops in those areas recently.

I had this a lot in my area of la mesa/Spring valley and well, just before the construction cops were more prevalent; then the construction stopped and now there are even more cops, weird to say the least and super nerve racking when they follow you down the road and into a Subway. And if anyone knows the intersection of Troy and Sweetwater Springs, I was going down Sweetwater and i had a green so kept going through the light and i have to make a left just after the intersection, and well i cam over the hill and started to merge to the middle lane so i can slow down and who is sitting there a cop, completely hidden like a dumb @$$ but i caught it early enough to swerve and avoid him... just thought i would share...

About a month ago I got a $250 ticket for parking in a poorly marked (no turn out, painted curb, bench, nothing) bus stop marked by a sign on the wrong side of the pole with a tree branch over it where cars have been parking for years, and still do. Thats more then a speeding ticket!

from what ive heard (from city workers/workers in general) is that the funding for such projects are given a certain period of time and if the project is finished before said time. funding gets cut for future projects
